Joseph C. Kacirek Endowed Scholarship

Established by Mr. Joseph C. Kacirek, M.A. ’81, a life-long educator, who is especially appreciative of the role which teachers play in the lives of their students and the sacrifices they must make when they prepare for and enter student teaching. The Joseph C. Kacirek Endowed Scholarship supports undergraduate students in the College of Education and Human Services who are preparing for careers in education. Established by a lifelong educator, this scholarship reflects a commitment to reducing financial barriers and supporting students during critical stages of their academic and professional preparation.

Criteria
• Must be enrolled in the College of Education and Human Services
• Must be a junior or senior undergraduate student
• Demonstrates financial need
• Must have a completed FAFSA on file
• Must have accepted any eligible direct grant aid

Preference may be given to:
• Students who are first-generation college students
• Students majoring in secondary education with a concentration in history or social studies
If no history or social studies students qualify, eligibility may extend to other secondary education majors
