Loyas Estate Quasi Endowment
The Edward J. Loyas ’53 Scholarship Fund was established through the Estate of Edward J. Loyas ’53 to support students at Seton Hall University who demonstrate financial need, academic proficiency, and a commitment to community engagement. A lifelong educator and strong advocate for servant leadership, Mr. Loyas believed deeply in the power of education to strengthen both individuals and communities. This scholarship honors his legacy by encouraging students to engage with cultural traditions and community life while pursuing their academic goals at Seton Hall. Preference may be given to students who demonstrate an appreciation of Polish and/or Polish-American culture, consistent with the University’s mission and values.
Criteria:• Incoming freshman or currently enrolled undergraduate student admitted to a degree-granting program at Seton Hall University
• Demonstrate financial need
• Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and satisfactory academic progress
• Demonstrate ongoing engagement in community service, consistent with the University’s servant-leadership mission
Preference may be given to students who demonstrate an appreciation of Polish and/or Polish-American tradition, culture, history, or community life (ancestry is not a requirement) with an essay.
Renewable provided the student continues to meet the financial need requirement, maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, and remain engaged in community service
